In his quest to seek enlightenment, Buddha placed himself in a variety of circumstances. Most of these experiments entailed some sort of deprivation. It wasn’t until he chose to let everything go, all his pre-conceived notions and ideas that he found the fundamental natural state of human being-ness to be a state of happiness.
What gets us in trouble, keeps us stuck, moves us to be miserable and choose anger is judgment. In Gulliver and the Lilliputians the fight between the groups was based on which side an egg should be opened. Each side had their judgments of “right” and “wrong,” missing all the while that both sides where (and had been for centuries) successfully opening eggs!

Perhaps today you can catch yourself judging something and just for kicks let it go, see/experience the opening, the freedom that follows, and the natural state of happiness that arises. Perhaps today you can get a glimpse of who you really are…
