We woke up on Monday to a snow storm. I live in central California; this is a big deal for us! My sweetheart John and I decided to go for a walk, it being such a lovely and unusual sight. We live down almost a mile long dirt road with lots of pine and oak trees.
Storms like this really challenge the trees so we expected to see broken limbs and perhaps trees down. As we neared the top of the road we saw an abandoned car and a tree completely blocking the road. Until this was taken care of, no one could get out. We promptly walked back to the house, got our chain saw and climbed in the 4 wheeler to drive up the road.
Once the chain saw noise pierced through the calm winter air, our neighbors started to show up. Within a few minutes there where two chain saws working and many a pair of hands pulling the branches to the side.
When we unite, as the country did this past Saturday, we can move mountains.
